Which Affiliate Programs Should I Join?

Written by admin on Wednesday, May 28th, 2008 in Infopreneurship.

Affiliate marketing is a cool way of earning online and it is considered as the second biggest source of income for infopreneurs after Content matched ads. Affiliate programs are free to join and now- a -days almost every merchant offers these programs with 15 to 30% commission. But still there are numerous factors that need to be considered before selecting any affiliate program.

Avoiding the Cookies Scams?
The concept of affiliate marketing revolves around temporary computer cookies because online buying behavior is different from offline purchases. The primary job of every affiliate is to send traffic to the merchant’s website through their referral id or links and actual sale may take place after few hrs, weeks or months.

When visitors will visit merchants through your affiliate link, this will create a temporary cookie in their computers to track your sales. All quality affiliate programs offer permanent cookies and you will get your commission even if the actual sale takes place after few months or so.

But still there are some programs that offer cookies for a limited time period 30, 60, 90,120 and 150 days cookies and I consider these programs as scams because they are just exploiting their affiliates. So if you join any affiliate program that offer time based cookies then you will not get any commission after the expiration of these cookies.

Affiliate Product Should Be Problem Solving
Your affiliate product should be problem solving. For instance if your niche is music or any sub category of music and you think that a particular brand of music instrument is better for beginners then you can join affiliate program of your suggested musical instrument. Joining each and every program according to your niche is a bad idea as some times infopreneurs have to make a clear opinion.

Affiliate Program Should Offer Residual Income
Affiliate marketers spend a lot of time in marketing any product or service that is why I don’t recommend single tier programs. Single tier programs only pays commission when there is a sale through your referral link. All quality merchants offer 2 tier or multi tier affiliate programs to provide good residual income to their affiliates.

Quality Customer Service And Promotional Forums:
It is the responsibility of merchants to guide their affiliates and provide quality customer service and promotional material. There are some merchants that have discussion forums and some affiliate programs like IMC also arrange conference calls for their affiliates.

Keyword And Broader Search Analysis (SEO)

Written by admin on Wednesday, May 21st, 2008 in Traffic Secrets.

Keyword analysis is the most essential component of search engine optimization and in today’s world getting traffic for a specific, short, highly competitive and straight forward keyword phrase is almost impossible. Some people really don’t bother about keyword analysis and think that they could insure traffic by selecting long tail keywords. Long tail keywords can drive visitors but if you want to boost your traffic then you have to do a “Broader Search Analysis”.

Example:
Let’s suppose your website niche is “Internet Marketing” it is obvious that you will not get any traffic for this keyword phrase “Internet Marketing” because of intense competition, so you have to identify other related and less competitive keywords that can be used for the same niche.
Your long tail keyword phrase can be “internet marketing for beginners” .Now you have to find the answers of the following questions!

  • How many sites are competing for this keyword phrase?
  • How many searches are conducted in the past few months for this keyword phrase?
  • How many searches are expected in the coming months for this keyword phrase?

Analyzing The Search Behavior (Broader Search Analysis)
The formula is very simple!

Suggested keywords – Keywords that drive your visitors = Broader search analysis

OR

(Identifying the related keywords + Competition for these keywords + No. of searches conducted in the past few months for these keywords + No of searches expected in the coming months) – No. of visitors received from search engines for these keywords = Broader search analysis.

Identifying The Related Keywords And Competition
Related keywords, competition and expected searches for these keywords can be identified by using wordtracker. Although there are a lot of programs but wordtracker is the most accurate one. It will show you the data of searches carried out in last 90 days from various search engines so that you can avoid any guesswork by selecting your own long tail keywords.

Identifying The Keywords That Are Driving Traffic
Keywords for which you are receiving traffic can be identified by using Google Analytics (A free tool by Google).Google analytics is free and it’s provider is Google so why not to take advantage of this service?. Google analytics will show your traffic sources(search engines or social media), visitors and the keywords that are used by these visitors.
Conclusion
Now after conducting a broader search analysis, you will observe a boost in your traffic and realize how much traffic you are receiving just by avoiding guess work and selecting more appropriate and less competitive keywords. Driving search engine traffic is an art of understanding the searcher’s psyche and a careful search analysis means high search engine traffic.

Google Has No Such Feelings For Yahoo

Written by admin on Monday, May 12th, 2008 in google.

Both Microsoft and Yahoo have a strong belief that they cannot compete with big search engine giant Google. Currently Microsoft has abandoned yahoo’s acquisition but it’s not over yet as romance between both these companies still continues and they have no other choice except a “merger”.

According to recent stats (US Stats) by accuracies Google holds 53% market share, yahoo 17% and Microsoft 7%.If both yahoo and Microsoft combines then their US market share would be 24%.So pulling the Google’s share is a tough task even if acquisition takes place as people have some emotional and psychological relationships with Google because they believe that it’s Google who will guide them through to their desired information. The term”goggling” is as popular as “searching” or “surfing”.

Google and It’s Acquisitions

While Microsoft wants to acquire Yahoo but it’s other competitor (Google) has a very long history of making acquisitions. In the last seven years or so Goggle has acquired more than 50 big companies. Not only that Google has also launched some new services in recent years, Google Checkout is just as an example that was introduced to compete with pay pal.

Why Google Is Not Interested In Yahoo?
Google is the biggest search engine and holds the largest market share but still there are some external threats and several acquisitions may take place as every search engine wants to compete with Google. Yahoo holds the second largest market share and if Google acquires yahoo then there will be very little competition in search engine market. Although this is a hypothetical statement but it has happened before, when one company fails to deal then other comes into play (i.e. competition for the acquisition of ABN-AMRO between Barclays and Royal Bank of Scotland) for the purpose of acquisition. At this point in time Google has no such feelings for Yahoo.

Good Vs Scam Ebooks

Written by admin on Friday, May 9th, 2008 in Be-Aware Of Scams.

A lot of people are earning huge amount of money just by promoting ebooks of various authors through Click Bank. Affiliate marketing and infopreneurship has a very close relationship, a content rich website without affiliate marketing is just like a bread with out butter. Similarly, credibility is the key to success in infopreneurial websites and promoting “Secrets Revealed” or “Get Rich Quick” ebooks means loosing credibility or scarifying long term goals over short term gains.

Secret Revealed VS Knowledge
I don’t believe in any secret but I believe in knowledge and knowledge is the key to success. There is no secret to get rich quick because no one can get rich quick legally just by buying an ebook.

E-books Have Extremely Low Satisfaction Level
Most of the ebooks have very general type of information but these ebooks are marketed heavily by click bank affiliates (earning 75 to 80% commission).yeh, commission is huge but very short term as you loose your reader’s loyalty.

We Are Not Against E-books?
Yeh , we are not against ebooks because it’s a cool way to deliver quality information but we are against these “Get Rich Quick” marketing scams. Quality ebooks not only build credibility but also bring thousands of visitors to your website. Millions of ebooks are being circulated on eBay (with resale rights) containing author’s website links and acts as a viral way of traffic generation.

How To Write An Ebook?
I hope you are already running a website and has full command on your niche, then writing on any topic of your niche is not so difficult. If you are still considering to develop a website then your first priority should be “developing your infopreneurial website” with enough quality and unique content and every thing else comes after that. A standard ebook consists of 20 to 25 pages and if you write one page per day then your ebook will be ready in 25 days.

After writing ebook you can further arrange your content and create a table of content. Your ebook must contain a legal notice (Legal Notice: This book comes with full resale rights but any change in the content would be a violation of copy rights) and resale rights information. My style of writing ebook is a little bit different as I write various articles on specific topic and later on arrange them in the form an ebook and convert them into pdf format. After writing ebook the next thing is developing an e-cover for your book. If you are knowledgeable about “Adobe Photoshop” then it would be very easy otherwise you can purchase “ ebook cover creator” for this purpose.

Blogging Is A Hobby But Website Is A Business?

Written by admin on Tuesday, May 6th, 2008 in Infopreneurship.

Where to start your business? blog or website the debate is still open. Yeh, the debate is still on and has taken a surprising turn as bigger companies have entered into this discussion. A new webpage Blog OR Build by Sitesell Says”Blogging is a hobby but website is a business”. The whole article is written with logic and facts but still we need to review the key points mentioned by Sitesell.

1) Content Is Not Organized

According to this article content of blogs is organized by post’s date and time so there is no continuity. For instance if you are providing information in step by step manner then it would be very hard for your readers to read all your tips because they will leave after reading the particular post and that’s why the bounce back time of blogs is much more higher then websites. This article also quotes Google where Google says” blogs deliver a poor quality visitor”.

Yeh, it’s very hard to organize your content for the maximum readership but still there are some techniques that bloggers are using for this purpose.

  • Using Some Plugins

There are some plug-ins available that can show your related posts and related comments. I use similar posts plug-in for this purpose on my blogs.

  • Inter-linking Your Articles

Another technique that can be used for this purpose is “Inter-linking of your Articles”. Most of the bloggers inter-link their related articles so that visitor can stay for a longer period of time but still all these methods have a lot of limitations.

2) A Monkey on Your Back

According to sitesell blog is “A Monkey on Your Back, It Wants To Be Fed Every Day, But We All Have Jobs and its Hard to Do”. Not only that this article also highlights the stress and anxiety issues that bloggers face. I agree with all those health points mentioned in this article. I can’t say that these issues are not there in case of a website but once you have sufficient content on your website then you can relax a little bit for some time or even until new issue in your niche arises but in blogging your mind always remain in stress as you have to write your next post otherwise search engine will be ready to ignore you.

Blog VS Website?

There are a lot of people who have turned their blogs into a profitable infopreneurial ventures but still website has its own dimensions .Almost every infopreneurs starts their businesses with websites then later on they also blog occasionally. I don’t know why Sitesell has written this article? because according to me there is nothing that could compete with SBI for infopreneurship. Although like every successful infopreneurs you can install blog or even forums on the same hosting but at the starting level you have to consider one of these options

Think Before Starting An EBay Business

Written by admin on Sunday, May 4th, 2008 in Be-Aware Of Scams.

Most of the people think that they can build high profit online business on eBay, Yes intention is right because eBay is the biggest marketplace on the internet but still there are some things that needs to understand before starting an eBay business. I started my eBay business during my graduation, at that time I was looking for a part time work and I thought there is nothing better than an online business.

My journey on eBay was started by selling ebooks and other digital delivery items such as softwares. It was very easy to sell digital delivery items because there is no shipping cost and prices of these e-books were very low, ranges from 1.99$ to 4$.I always go for creativity and selling ebooks was not so creative. So I decided to sell some other products via dropship, selecting a dropshipper was a tough job as I was not interested in bigger companies like Shopster and Doba (They need a membership payment ). It does not make any sense because you are acting as a salesman of these companies for a minute profit and still you have to pay for membership to sell their products.

So I contacted various online stores and got very encouraging response from them. Then my painful experience of dropship was started it was so painful that you can’t sleep at whole night in a worry that dropshipper will ship the product at right time or not.

Then after that I quitted eBay business and started an infopreneurial website. Now I believe infopreneursip has a lot of benefits with less pain and stress. The profit margin in infopreneurship is huge either from affiliate marketing or Google adsense. The first affiliate program selected by me was “Internet Marketing Center” because of high commission (65$ per sales). Then I moved to Shareasale and Commission Junction for the selection of affiliate programs according to my niches. Now let me make a sweeping statement about affiliate marketing” Good infopreneurs are those who always select quality products and services to promote and those who go for high commission and scarify quality can never build credibility. High quality plus high commission is the best thing to promote.

In short, if you want to sell on eBay then you have to know that selling your words is much easier than selling products especially with dropship
