Google Has No Such Feelings For Yahoo
Written by admin on May 12th, 2008 in google.
Both Microsoft and Yahoo have a strong belief that they cannot compete with big search engine giant Google. Currently Microsoft has abandoned yahoo’s acquisition but it’s not over yet as romance between both these companies still continues and they have no other choice except a “merger”.
According to recent stats (US Stats) by accuracies Google holds 53% market share, yahoo 17% and Microsoft 7%.If both yahoo and Microsoft combines then their US market share would be 24%.So pulling the Google’s share is a tough task even if acquisition takes place as people have some emotional and psychological relationships with Google because they believe that it’s Google who will guide them through to their desired information. The term”goggling” is as popular as “searching” or “surfing”.
Google and It’s Acquisitions
While Microsoft wants to acquire Yahoo but it’s other competitor (Google) has a very long history of making acquisitions. In the last seven years or so Goggle has acquired more than 50 big companies. Not only that Google has also launched some new services in recent years, Google Checkout is just as an example that was introduced to compete with pay pal.
Why Google Is Not Interested In Yahoo?
Google is the biggest search engine and holds the largest market share but still there are some external threats and several acquisitions may take place as every search engine wants to compete with Google. Yahoo holds the second largest market share and if Google acquires yahoo then there will be very little competition in search engine market. Although this is a hypothetical statement but it has happened before, when one company fails to deal then other comes into play (i.e. competition for the acquisition of ABN-AMRO between Barclays and Royal Bank of Scotland) for the purpose of acquisition. At this point in time Google has no such feelings for Yahoo.
